Pam Crymble is a well established Florist in Mallorca , providing bouquets and arrangements to many weddings and events all over the island. I am fortunate to photograph her wonderful creations every Summer! Recently I asked her a few questions about her passion…
How long have you been in the Floristry business?
I started floristry full-time when I was 15. I grew up on a nursery so flowers have always been part of my life.
It was a family business based near Heathrow that also covered floristry and landscape gardening.
How did you qualify as a florist?
I passed my exams with the Society of Floristry and received a diploma, I also passed exams with the City & Guilds.
After a few years, I taught floristry at a local college and was an examiner with the City & Guilds.
Where did your qualifications lead you to?
At the beginning, I won a scholarship for a course in Turin, Italy and attended Dutch floral schools. I opened three shops in Cornwall and ran a successful business for many years.
What would you say about wedding flowers in Mallorca, is it very different to the UK?
Yes, be wary of the heat! Use Dutch and local flowers like succulents. I can help you with finding your perfect look. I like to draw inspiration from the local scenery, plants and colours.
What do you love about your work?
I love floristry, I love the flowers and seeing brides happy with their bouquets and arrangements. As soon as I meet each bride and her family I get to know exactly what they want and ensure that I give them just that. Of course, it helps to have a sample of the bride’s or bridesmaids’ dresses so that I can judge the colour. But all in all, each wedding is unique and I offer a very bespoke service.
Pam is available through out the year in Mallorca to help supply your perfect flowers and arrangements for your special day.
